Comments This was my 3rd Aggressor trip, but not my favorite. Picked Turks/Caicos to connect with work friend who retired there. I hadn't been to Providenciales for over 25 years. The build-up on the island was incredible. I used the FastTrack service to breeze through Customs/Immigration. Well worth it. Stayed a night on Provo at Ports Of Call Resort to make the connection with my friend. A nice hotel with descent accommodations, although the accounting department left quite a bit to be desired. I was double billed for a 2nd stay that I cancelled. Well-appointed rooms with lots of space . A B-flat continental breakfast was available in the mornings.

Arrived at the Aggressor dock in Turtle Cove Marina on Saturday around noon. Too early to board but had a nice relaxing hang and lunch at Shark Bite restaurant in the marina. Boarding started at 4pm and was greeted by staff who were very helpful in getting dive and camera gear onboard and settled.

Got the usual welcome and briefings by captain and crew. Turns out the channel leading out of the marina is tight and shallow requiring us to stay until mid-day Sunday for daylight plus the right tides. Had dinner onboard and a quite night in port.

We had a 1/2 full boats and although I pad the single supplement, several others ended up with single rooms anyway. Accommodations on Aggressors are comfortable and efficient. There is room for luggage storage under the bunks but I don't recall being asked to store my dive bag in my cabin before this trip. They are now providing eco/reef friendly shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the cabin and deck showers.

Camera table is spacious and there are plenty of outlets underneath for charging. There is a charge station in the lounge as well. We were asked to not leave anything plugged in and charging in our cabins. Wet lockers at each dive station are spacious as well. Night safety watch was described and staff person identified. Safety briefing was conducted with muster stations identified. Various alarms were described and defined.

Sunday's departure lead us out into Grace Bay for the "Check Out Dive". Visibility was marginal and there was some weather and chop. Dive went well but . . Here's my rub; I had some back surgery a few years ago. Trained specifically for the dive and felt good about my abilities. Climbing back onboard, the swells just moved me in a way that tweaked my back. No too serious but very much enough to get my attention. From that point on I did the "disabled" thing of having the crew bring my gear down to the dive deck where I put my BC on seated on the edge of the dive deck. Did forward rolls off the deck for entry. On return, I removed my weight pockets, then BC, then fins and handed them up before re-boarding. The crew carried my bc back to the fill station. The dive crew were always of good cheer in helping me.

The diving was pretty good all week. Weather held nicely. The dive sites were varied and generally in good health. Conservation and reef protection were emphasized. Some of the dive guides were better than others. Some good at finding little critters and others good at supervising and guiding the group. One guide was a bit obsessed with getting footage for the "Aggressor video" that they sell.

Food onboard this boat was bit underwhelming. The chef was very keen on interesting menu items and combinations but things like a simple pasta with Bolognese were bland. The food quality was just OK. There are always plenty of snacks and fruit available. Overall I thought that the food on both my other Aggressor trips was better, (Belize & Cayman)

Due to weather, then end of the trip required us to dock at a different marina on the south side of Providenciales. This again required a specific time for entry due to daylight and tides. As is normal for Aggressor trips the Friday night dinner is on us, not provided. This marina had one restaurant and they closed early so we needed to select items and have it called in in advance.

Check out and debarked at 8:00 am on Saturday morning. The crew offered to arrange transport, including arranging stops in the Grace Bay tourist area for those with later flights. I used FastTrack for departure as my local friend had said that Saturday Customs/Immigration can be busy. Turns out it wasn't. The airport was crowded and bustling. There is one private lounge and access is $90.00. Steep for a small lounge with a bit of hot food, coffee, liquor and Wifi.

All in all this trip has neither pushed me toward nor away from doing another Aggressor dive trip.
