Comments N2 the Blue is a first class operation. We felt very safe and cared for. We travelled to a beachfront VRBO rental north of Fredrikstad for a few days of pleasant diving and a few days of rest and relaxation. We were very satisfied on all accounts. The diving along the west coast ( Fredrikstad) is as easy as it gets. Typical Caribbean but we saw more rays and turtles than usual which was special. None of the many sites on this west coast are more than 8 minutes by boat. Their boat takes 6 divers but my wife and I were joined by 0-3 others on the four days we dove. Very little chop. Very easy in and out. Just right for our once ever year or two doses of spending a few days under the sea. And very easy for our 60+ year old bodies. Surprisingly, The Fredrikstad cruise ship pier (which is occupied once every 3-7 days by one ship at a time) makes an excellent day or night dive site when no boat is in town with its resident seahorses and proliferation of fish and other critters. Seeing the seahorses is all but guaranteed. Fredrikstad is very quiet, even when a cruise ship is in town. Decent food and enough interesting non-dive things to do if one needs to something other than read in the hammock and wait for the next sunset. They say that diving the wall on the St Croix north coast by Cane Bay can be more interesting but the choppy seas can make it harder and prone to cancellation ( we heard). Next time we might book a day with an outfitter up there, but for reliable good diving for a few days stick with the west coast.
