The Sinking of the Komodo Plus

The Komodo Plus I, a traditional Indonesian live-aboard that has been departing Bali for dive trips to the Komodo Islands, was struck by a rogue wave on March 20. The boat, one of Grand Komodo Tours’ four flagships, sank about a mile off the island. The company advises that the two divers on board were rescued, although Undercurrent has received reports that some crew members were lost. There were news reports of a cyclone in western Australia at about the time the ship sank which may have been responsible for the storm and rough seas that brought down the ship.
