A Miami Airport Tip

from the May, 1999 issue of Undercurrent   Subscribe Now

If you’re traveling through Miami and hate spending those long layovers with your head stuck in a magazine, the Miami International Airport Hotel (800-327-1276 or 305- 871-4100), located on Concourse E of the Miami Airport, has come up with the perfect solution. For just $8, travelers can go up to the top of the hotel and unwind in the pool or use the sauna or jacuzzi. There’s also a fitness room with ample shower facilities, a lounge, restaurant, and sushi bar if you work up an appetite, and half-day room rentals from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for travelers who’d prefer a snooze. (1 person, $85 + tax; 2 people, $95 + tax.) With all those options, it’s bound to be more entertaining than sitting at the gate.
