The Coral Reef II is regularly chartered for collection, education,
and conservation trips by diverse institutions and organizations, including
the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, the National Aquarium
in Baltimore, the Albuquerque Aquarium, the University of Miami, the
National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and of course
Chicago's Shedd Aquarium. The boat is normally in use more than
thirty weeks a year on seven to ten day expeditions.
Most aquariums solicit volunteers to help have a website where
upcoming trips are posted. Contact the Shedd to see who has charted
the boat. (www.shedd.org, or call 312-939-2438) Or you can contact
your local public aquarium to learn if they have fish collecting trips.
Check dive magazines and trade publications for press releases recruiting
participants.
