Hi Ben,
I've been reading Undercurrent for many years now ... and still do despite having to cease my diving due to pinched neck nerves. Bummer. But diving still speaks to me.
Years ago, I went to Charlotteville in Tobago -- not to dive, but because the Undercurrent review said it was like going back in time. Which it was. One night, prompted by drumming in the distance, I walked up to the noise. It was a wake for a resident who had died. Kinda like an Irish wake where the departed is celebrated. An amazing experience.
Another Undercurrent issue led me to travel to Bequia. One day, I was drawn to the small church near town when I heard a beautiful violin solo playing Bach. It was a concert violinist who vacations there, keeping in practice. Just him and me. Another amazing experience.
I consider remote places in the Caribbean that most of us have not seen as an add-on. Those two places alone were worth my continuing subscription. Oh yeah, I also used it for a number of my past dive favorites.
Cheers,
