Comments We dove with Aguas Clara based on several reviews by different publications. The Dive Master provided transportation from the shop in central Tulum.

We started at Casa Cenote which is mostly an open pond type site near the coast, hence it had a mixture of Salt and Fresh water producing haloclines which are a trippy mixing of the two waters. There was a fair amount of juvenile marine life in the mangrove portion of the cenote. There are also several minor cave penetrations with sunlight visible most of the time. It was a good intro to cenote cave diving.

Our 2nd Dive was to a more like location Dos Ojos which is a larger connection of caverns. It parking, tables and showers is a worthwhile 2nd level cenote experience which is well marked and with few areas of total darkness. There are areas that are closed to divers due to danger. I had visited this site 20 years earlier when access was only by open air jungle buggy and a rickety ladder down to the water.

The dive guide Nico was very knowledgeable and attentive to adult son on his first cave diving adventure. They became good friends. A worthwhile experience.
