This was my first substantial trip to Cozumel so I can only rate Aldora divers against operators in other locations. Boats were fast, Dive Masters were knowledgable, helpful and professional. We were not herded about, but generally followed the DMs as we moved through the dive location. In 4 days of diving, we did not repeat a site. Our boat was usually first to a location and we seldom bumped into other divers.
After "qualifying" on day one on the boat for newer dives, we dove with a collection of other good divers, some of who were staying at Villa Aldora and some who were not. Pick up was from the Villa Aldora dock. Gear was handled and set up by the boat crew. We had 4 different Divemasters with three excellent ones and one average. The Steel 120s provide for dives well in excess of an hour. I was ready to end most dives when air got low.
Villa Aldora and the hosts Kay and Gregg was excellent. They made us feel like welcome family members. Breakfast is available in the morning if you ask the night before. Other meals are on your own in town. Kay or Gregg are usuall good for a ride if you want one. Otherwise, a taxi is cheap. Free VOIP (internet) calls to the states and free Wi Fi for your computer are a real plus.
The diving in Cozumel is justifyably famous. When I return to Cozumel, I will ceratainly dive with Aldora again and stay at Villa Aldora. |

We dove our computers. Dive Master basically led and kept track of remaining air. Large tanks made for long dives.
