Comments Aldora:

As far as dive ops go, they are one of the better ones. They still pull some of the same stunts as others though. I had 4 different DM's on the trip, one was excellent, one good, one average, and the other I didn't really care for. I went in saying that I wanted to dive Maracaibo, Punta Sur, & Barracuda.

Day 1, DM 1 - Palancar Caves & Punta Tunich: Nurse shark, eagle ray, turtles, etc. Nice dives, and since it was my first time with them, I expected an "intro" dive, still it was cool. DM 1 let us dive until 2 ppl were at 1000 psi... which is a lot, but better than baby-sitting

Day 2, DM 1 - Punta Sur Sur & Santa Rosa?: Did the Cathedral (real one) and devil's throat. Lots of swimming, but an awesome dive. Probably couldn't have done it with any other op. Saw a reef shark to boot. Awesome.

Day 3, DM 2 - Palancar Caves & SF Wall: Despite the promise to be on a small boat going to Maracaibo, we were on the cattle boat and did "a different Palancar Caves"... The weather was perfect for going south, but we did not. I also found out that another boat hit Barracuda reef...

Day 3, DM 3 - San Juan: Have you ever been flying? This dive was awesome. DM went out of his way to point out things. It also cost him a tank of air. Profile was go up at 500psi. Saw a MARLIN. Awesome.

Day 3, DM 4 - Night Dive, Chankanaab: DM didn't really point anything out but the really annoying part was the short time... an hour on 120's at 50 ft is sad. Also, as usual, we started way too early and the reef didn't get interesting until the last 15-20 min of the dive.

I wanted to comment on the steel 120's that Aldora uses. They are pretty cool, but they are HP and I'd like to see them filled more.

Hotel Coz: Nothing special, food was fine, so was the room. Price was great.
