Comments As with two other trips with Aldora Divers, they are the only way to go on Cozumel. Big steel tanks, 80 minute dives, and the only ones who can dive the other side of the island (east) during "Nortes" when the harbor is closed. We dove the east side one day and had an amazing dolphin encounter with 5-6 dolphins who first swam along the boat, then waited for us to be underwater for 15 minutes and came to "play" with us, circling me multiple times, coming within 10 feet, smiling and nodding and cavorting with me. The diving is classic Cozumel, but Aldora is very good at figuring out best sites for the weather/conditions, which were often iffy during our October stay. A little more expensive but worth the extra bottom time, safety and experience. Villa Aldora is also very nice. Manager Brent was fabulous, responsive and fixed any little thing. Don't dive Cozumel without Aldora Divers. Only complaint is unnecessarily long surface interval at Sanchos beach resort. Diving nitrox we could do with a half hour break and get back into the water. Often got back to room at 2pm, a little late. Photography a challenge due to lots of backscatter. Wide angle near impossible, stuck to macro and short range.
