All good to be said about Aldora Divers and Villa Aldora, sister compaies. They handle/store/set-up gear every day for you. Nice touch. Boats have GOOD ladders and if you need, they will take your grear from you in the water. Divers of like experience are grouped together. There is one large boat for rough-sea days, but groups stay small and separate. First dive is with 32%, 2nd with 36% nitrox (assuming you're certified). Boats carry up to 6 pax and are covered. In case of rain (we had LOTS), they have warm fleece lined & hooded rain jackets. They were worth their weight in gold! Rooms are great! They even take you to the grocery store to get you set up in your room. Taxis come by all the time for trips to town/restaurants/shops/etc... Really a first class experience. I strained my back and they even arranged an in-home massage for me! We flew from Houston Hobby (HOU) on Southwest Airlines inaugural flight to Cancun and were met at the airport by DISCOVERY MUNDO CAR SERVICE [discoverymundo.com link] and driven to the ferry at Playa Del Carmen. The round-trip from D/M was $140.00 and first class service. The round-trip ferry is about $20/person. All easier than it sounds and turned out be be about $1,000 cheaper than messing with United.(Cancun Airport is a world-class facility) |
