Comments Aldora is a top-tier dive operator located directly across Calle 5 Sur from the recompression chamber in the international hospital, 1/2 block from the water in the heart of town. For hotels north of town, they have an 0730 hrs pick-up at the Villa Hotel pier. Guide & Captain skill/knowledge superb and entertaining/thrilling. They supply high pressure steel 100 & 120 cu.ft. nitrox cylinders making for drift dives well over an hour in duration covering much of two named reefs.
Hotel B Cozumel is an elegant, mid-sized waterside hotel north of town; think seaside yoga. Their self-stated 4-star rating seems overreach. We had a nightmare check-in but things smoothed out eventually. Hotel B food was excellent. Combined with the 2 infinity pools spilling to the ironshore, a hottub/jacuzzi cut in to the ironshore, the clientele and service (mostly), staying "in" was easy. New Year's Eve dinner was quite disappointing however. Overall, a little pricey but palatable due to staff attentiveness and amenities.
