Comments Cozumel is a annual early fall trip for me and I continue to enjoy the experience. Initially, I stayed at the Plaza Las Glorias (now the Cozumel Palace) which was fine. For the past 12 years or so, I stay at the Hotel Cozumel & Resort. Very reasonably priced and a pretty decent facility and good food. I would rate it 3+ stars. I always get the all-inclusive package as it doesn't cost that much more per day and if you want to go outside the hotel for dinner, you're not out much money. The rooms are clean and the facility is in a good state of repair. The food has been better than average then past 4-5 years with a good variety so you won't go hungry. Dive Paradise has a facility on site and there's lockers, rinse tanks, hanging racks and showers available just off the dock area. Nothing wrong with Dive Paradise, I choose to use Aldora Divers. For the most part, they use fast, six-pack boats which often are not filled. When you initially check in at Aldora to complete the paperwork, they will note your experience level, what depths you're comfortable with and if you have dive sites you would like to visit. At check-in, you drop off all your gear and it will be set up on the dive boat when you go for your first dive. After your daily dives, Aldora takes the gear back with them and rinses it. After your last dive of the drip, Aldora thoroughly rinses the gear and hangs it up to dry. You pick it up when you go back to Aldora to settle your bill. If you want to save some money on the cost of the dives, put a minimal deposit (US$100.00) down on-line and pay the balance with cash. You will get a 10% discount on the total bill. With Aldora, you have the option to use 120 Cu. Ft. tanks giving a longer bottom time but of course, you need to be aware of your nitrogen loading during the dive. I have always found Aldora's operation and divemasters to be top-notch and would highly recommend them.

I look forward to continuing to do this exact trip yearly as long as I can still dive (I'm 74).
