Comments Booked travel and hotel through Expedia. Got a good deal on Fiesta Americana, even though it is AI. Chose it mostly because of its southern location and proximity to reefs. FA did not disappoint. Great place, although pricy. But IMHO, very nice if you want to stay at location most of the time, whiich we did. Breakfasts were amazing buffet on the beach and you could watch for your diveboat to come in. Lots of great friits, breads, hot stuff, etc.... Wonderful. Lunches were not taken. Dinners were great. Four or five different dining options...Mexican, Italian, Asian, Seafood, and very nice buffet also always available. Not all were open all the time, but always something good was available any time. Also, great room service. Room was on 6th floor, so we had a great view. Nice, clean rooms, very Euro-design with super clean looks and angles....no Mexican or Caribbean charm here. Only real complaint was an al glass wall shower whose door design always allwed flooding of bathroom. All in all a great place.

Chose Aldora Divers based on Undercurrent and Scubaboard reviews. Price was on high side at 89 per Outing, but money was well worth it. Was diving with my son on his first big open water dives. I advised Aldora that his safety and fun were my main concerns. They were amazing at puttting my mind at rest and showing him a good safe time. On all of our dives there were at least two DM for max five divers. On the first day, Adam told us he would be with my son the WHOLE TIME! What a great thing. For any Dads out there, Aldora is a great group with whom you can entrust your family!

Adam and Rachel were our usual DMs. Both were very good. Rachel did a great job of watching my son's air, and sharing a few hundred pounds off of her octo before my son got too low. Very nice! Both knew the sites and the waters well. A pleasure to dive with them.

Dove Palancar Caves, San Francisco Reef, Dahlila Reef, Santa Rosa, Paso de Cedral, and Tormentos. Viz was very good, but has been better in Coz. Temp was amazing. Current was fairly strong down below, but manageable for even first timers like my son (age 15). Over several sites we saw so many angels, I lost count. Tons of Queens, French and Grays. Lots of Parrotfish, icluding some rare Blues and a few Midnights. Only saw one Eagle Ray, but several Stingrays, including one swimming over coral heads, and not just on the sandy bottoms. Big scorpionfish. Turtles every dive. Couple of cudas and one sleeping nurse in a crevice. Lots of juvies all over. Scrawled filefish, a big puffer let us get very close, and some giant groupers. Several lobster and lots and lots of fry in holes. Very healthy reef life. Didn't see too many tiny critters with the current moving pretty well. Gotta love Cozumel!
