Comments We've been to this resort and dive center several times. Always enjoy the location and the SCUBA diving. This trip though was a family trip. 7 certified divers. The shop did a great job accommodating the Advanced and beginners. Our divemaster Jan was a good guy and led nice slow easy dives. Lots to see. Many turtles. Lots of fish of all sizes and really good coral and little critters.
My only complaint is that you need to walk about 250 yards down the beach to get to the dive boat at another resort run by SCUBA Caribe. Nice boat with plenty of room and a nice stable dive platform. I did find the solution to this problem though. The Viva Sister resort Viva Azteca (about 10 minute walk from Viva Maya) has the diving run thru SCUBA Caribe so they will pick you up right off the beach at that resort. I'm doing that next time. If you have never dove a Cenote this is a good place to do that from. They pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the Cenotes and back. Pretty remarkable
