Comments Two days of diving with Aqua Safari at the Palace resort in Cozumel. The dive guides were very safety conscious and gave good safety briefings. Not so much what to expect with the dives but good safety. Drift dives are not my favorite but the reef looks healthy and vibrant. Good numbers of corals and fish. The Palancar Horseshoe dive was excellent! Not a drift dive on our day and the reef was amazing! Really excellent macro stuff as well as great formations and fish life. Overall, a good experience. I didn't bring my camera for boat dives because I was anticipating the usual drift dive and I'm glad I didn't because boat facilities are nonexistent for them. We did several shore dives in addition and there was great photo action close to shore in under 20 feet of water next to the resort. Very good macro stuff, lots of juveniles, octopus, eels, etc....

Palace resort had nice accommodations, rooms were spacious and nice. The food was fine but not excellent and very much targeted to the US cruiseship tourist - not much seasoning. Would really benefit from allowing some Mexican cuisine to shine through.

UW Photo Comments No accommodation for cameras on boats. 4 -5 buckets or coolers on the boat but divers rinsed wetsuits, masks, etc... in all of them. None segregated for camera use and saw one diver rinse a soapy mask in a bucket with a camera in it.
