This was my third visit to Aquatech/Villas DeRosa since 2006. I have to say that I have been quite happy with the property and the service provided by the very friendly and attentive staff. On this visit, I led a group of 18 divers from New York to Villas DeRosa for a 9 day trip of Cavern & Cave diving. From the first minute, the vans were at the airport waiting to pick us up. We arrived at the resort and all of the rooms were neat and clean and marked with the names of the members of my group to make the check in process fast and easy. The kitchen staff immediately put out an afternoon snack to hold us over until dinner. Each day breakfast was served promptly at 7:30am as planned and the group was able to gather their gear and head out to an amazing adventure in the Cenotes with the Aquatech diving staff. On one day in the middle of the visit, the air conditioner and refrigerator in one of our 10 rooms stopped working. I notified the office staff after breakfast and by the time we returned from diving at 2pm, both had been replaced with new units. The hotel staff was very flexible concerning the needs and wants of such a large group. Some days the weather was so nice that we wanted to eat our meals right out on the beach. I notfied the kitchen staff early in the day and they set up our tables right out on the sand next to the beach bar. The beach and pool areas were always immaculately clean. The rooms were cleaned and beds were made on a daily basis. The maid staff even went so far as to wash any dirty dishes that may have been left in the sink. Pricing on hotel and diving packages will vary depending on the size of the group, if anyone requires cave diving instruction and if you choose to have an "all inclusive" plan. The average cost for our group was about $1,500 per person and included diving, 3 meals per day, airport transfers and a non-diving day trip to a destination of our choosing. Overall I must say we had a fantastic time. I would like to personally thank Tony DeRosa (proprietor) for his assistance in setting us up for this wonderful trip. Although we did not take advantage of it on this trip, AquaTech does also offer ocean diving along the barrier reef located just a few hundred feet off its pristine beach. Night diving was also available. I would recommend Villas DeRosa to anybody travelling to the Riviera Maya who wants the comfort of a beach resort combined with the convenience of an on-site diving facility. |
