Comments While Cancun diving is only somewhat above average, it is definitely worth bringing your gear; especially if you dive the Cenotes. We dove Chac Mool: water temp 76F, 150 vis, mix of salt and fresh water adds to the experience. During July & August, north of Cancun you can snorkel with migrating whale sharks.

Aquaworld is a McDonalds/Walmart type of operation (busy, large operation handling many activities). Communication amongst the areas of operation is lacking & can add to confusion. However, once you speak directly to those handling the dive boat you are in good hands. They make up for and take care of any shortcomings of the ‘main office’.

The dive masters were very attentive, fun, and thorough. They setup and wash down your gear. There is no storage for your own gear at the dive center, as they only seem to usually deal with one-day visitors. However, they allowed us to leave our gear in their office, as we had booked with them for most of the week.

We were picked up daily at our hotel. One example of miscommunication was with coordinating the Cenotes dive trip. Transportation to Cenotes was direct from our hotel, but our gear was at the dive center. The dive master was very accommodating calling Aquaworld and arranged for our gear to be delivered while we were on route. I would dive with this center again.
