Comments	Most operators in Isla have open boats - no shade. Avalon has the best boats and a good operation. They are relaxed about time - but never start so early that impacts vacation. They have very good rental gear and most of the divemasters are excellent (local people, which we like). The diving is much rougher than expected, so bring your favorite seasickness remedy, if needed. Water to drink on boats, but no food or other drinks - bring your own. Good rinse and hangar facilities at the dive shop. The best part of this place is that it is not Cancun. The town is like Cozumel 15 years ago - family-owned restaurants, friendly people, no chains, casual atmosphere. Island small enough to traverse in a day. Very relaxing, nice beaches, excellent food (surprisingly high quality). Avalon makes getting from the airport a snap - best place to stay if you can afford it. Easy access to other islands, if you wish, as well as Cancun, if you must.
