Comments Booked the dives through NCL. Were picked up at the pier after a short wait since there were 2 NCL ships in port and divers from both were on the boat. 17 divers made for a crowded boat but the crew did a good job of working in a limited space and we were divided into two groups for the drift dives. The supplied gear was good and my wife got a brand new BCD though no computers were available. I brought my own regulator since I like to dive with a computer. The current was reported as too strong for a wall dive so we did 2 reef dives with max. depth of 55 feet (always to be expected from cruise line arranged dives). The current was strong but we were able to get into eddies to slow down. Julian did a good job of watching but did not demand constant communication of air reserves, etc. Only water was supplied during the dive. We were informed that the second dive might be shortened due to the current which would take us within the 500 meter security zone of the Carnival ship docked at the pier and indeed, we ended the dive right at the limit. Nonetheless the visibility and sea life made for nice dives though the conditions might be extreme for novice divers. We were dropped off at the pier near our ship with 15 minutes left before "all aboard".
