Comments Blue Magic Scuba delivers personalized service, both before the trip, during, and after. Joyce, the shop owner, was very helpful in giving me appropriate advice before the trip in terms of accomodations (and importantly for my wife) restaurants. (Kinta was our favorite.) Most importantly, she suggested bringing a 3 mil suit which turned out to be very helpful on some of the windy days we had.

The port was closed the first day I arrived, but on the second day Blue Magic Scuba picked me up at the El Presidente where we sere staying. (See other reviews for feedback on the hotel site.) I was the only client on day 1, and on day 2 dove with Joyce, 2 other divers, and our Divemaster. Each day I was taken to sites that met my personal interests and capabilities, with great care to avoid crowded sites where I'd see more divers than wildlife. (Although we did get a distant view of one of the submarines at one site--a treat in itself.) Captain and divemaster helped with my equipment, switched gear for me, and even swapped out an octopus when mine developed free-flow. Boat was quick with a canopy that would be very welcome in the summer. But what I appreciated most was that the boat only had space for 6 divers; there is no potential for sardine packing.

If you are either an experienced or a beginner diver looking for a personal, customized dive experience from a reliable operator, you should definitely checkout bluemagicscuba, as long as you do well on the smaller (and quicker!!) boats. If you are part of a bigger group (e.g. 12) or need a bigger boat for seasickness, give them a call. I actually never made it to their diveshop--my service was dock to dive both days.
