Comments Iberostar, Island of Cozumel Trip Dates: July 24-31,2004

Readers,
We ventured to this location with 42 people in the group, 36 were divers, a few Snorkeler's and a couple of Non-Diver's. We had heard of some trouble with the dive operation at this resort, so we book Dive House as our dive operators, we booked six days of diving, the usual 1 night dive, we set up Morning and Afternoon Dives, and gave our group the individual the option of diving what ever they wanted to, Divers would tell the boat crew's daily which one they were go to dive the next day, so they made sure we had enough tanks and anything else we would need including the Surface Interval goodies the dive operation furnished us daily. After two days of diving from the resort, some 16 of our Group ventured to the mainland to dive the "CENOTES" a fresh water cavern dive. The trip started at 7am when they left the resort to catch the ferry to the mainland and the the usual transfer's needed to get to the Dive site, after a briefing everone geared up and off they went, it was really a nice dive, good visability, water temperature around 73 degrees, after the dive they were furnished lunch and then started the return trip back to the resort, from start to finish it was about a 12 hours adventure, We continued our boat diving fom the Iberostar resort for the remainder of the week. The accommodations were great, service was great, resort grounds were very nice and well maintained, and the food at the three different Restaurants was some of the best we ever had. The Iberostar Resort is an All-Inclusive resort, 3 meals a day, all your drinks (including your favorite Alcoholic beverage), their are all sorts of thing to do at the resort, entainment, skeet shooting and much, much more, including a day care center to keep your small ones intertained while you go diving. All 42 of our group thourghly enjoyed them selves!!! The only complaint that I had would be the Dive operation (DRESSEL DIVERS), which contracts out to all of the resorts world wide. While diving, one of our divers had a BCD Power Inflator button stick in the inflate position, when we got back to the resort Dive Shop (DD) we asked to borrower a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the old one and install a new one, there reply to us was, "Are you diving through us? we replied NO, they said they couldn't help us, later on one of our divers wanted to rent a Wet Suit fot the Cenote Dive and he was also refused this due to the fact we did not book this through DRESSEL DIVERS, Dressel Divers is not a Diver Friendly Operation, through my eyes. This is the only BAD MARK we had about the resort. I would recommend this Resort very Highly, and I am looking forward to returnin to this place again.
