Comments Well , no fault of the operation or Casa Del Mar , but October weather wise is a little iffy . I had originally vacationed at Casa Del Mat in August 2012 , and enjoyed it so much I went back in October . It's important to point out that this is the first time in about 35 years that I have gone on vacation by myself . If it were not for Sandra at Casa Del Mar I do not know what I would have done,

From the moment I stepped out of the taxi I was made to feel like family , from everybody at the hotel to the dive staff . I had a large clean room with an enormous bed . The air was cold , plenty of hot water , three drying pegs outside for my gear , and it was cleaned everyday to perfection . Can not complain . I also had a TV that I did not have much time to watch .

They also offer an all inclusive plan that for , I believe 39 dollars a day , you get all your meals , drinks, including alcohol , and snacks and tips . I did not opt for this because I do not eat much . But at the end of my stay I added up everything I had spent , and it was very very close to that figure . So it might be something to think about .

When I asked about the dive package , Sandra recommended that because of the weather it would be better to buy the diving on a daily basis , which turned out given the weather to be excellent advice . I can not say enough about Del Mar Aquatics .

I have been going , off and on to Cozumel since 1985 , so lets be honest . Unless somebody has some secret spot that I am not aware of , most operators are going to take you to all the same reefs . At that point what separates one from the other , for me ,is service and safety . With safety being paramount for me . As long as I feel safe I will dive anywhere under any conditions .

When I was there , we had excellent pre dive briefings . Pointing out to us what to expect and also what was expected of us . Once you set your gear up for the first time , from that point on , if you wanted , you never touched your gear again , until you picked it up on the dock . The boats are large and comfortable , and for the most part rode pretty dry .

The dive masters are very astute at pointing out , even the most miniscule critter to the point where I kept asking , what the heck are you pointing at ?? If there were new divers on board , and we had a few , they were always made to feel at ease , and the dive masters always kept their eyes on them . Especially when air consumption was in question .

It was a very relaxing , affordable , and enjoyable vacation .

Oh I almost forgot to mention how Sandra hooked me up with YUCATEK in Playa Del Carmen to do some cenote diving . Another very professional dive operation that I was very satisfied with . If you have the opportunity or the desire to try cenote diving I would highly recommend Yucatek .

I found the crew to be very accommodating to the handling of cameras . There was a large fresh water barrel on board dedicated to cameras . I had just purchased a Canon s100 and placed it in a Recsea housing . On this trip I took 568 photos .
