Comments Casa del Mar is a bargain, but views are marred by cruise ship docking. Also, nowhere to really store dive equipment. .. Otherwise, a very nice quiet hotel with great service and immaculately clean and comfortable rooms. Food at restaurant pretty good and reasonably priced (also have all inclusive plan)
Also stayed at Hotel Cozumel second week. Love the 'Dive Community' there! And they are perfectly set up location wise...close to town and right on the water with perfect "ease right back into diving" ocean entry pools and ladders. $6 tanks to jump in and shore dive whenever you feel like it...Dive Paradise right on sight...LOVE those guys! Hammocks under palms on white sand 15' from a jump into the turquoise sea! Good equipment storage facilities. Lunch right there as you come in from a.m. dives. Food is so-so but highly convenient and affordable all inclusive. Stick to local stuff most always tasty. Gets kind of YUCK when they try to cater to American taste. BIG swimming pool. ..but kinda hard beds. Ocean view rooms convenient but road noise.
Dive House does a great job getting you to super nice sites that Paradise rarely goes to and smaller boats. They give you extra time to use your air which I always appreciate...up to 90min! Paradise has bigger boats with amazing views on top and on bow to drift into the slowed down world of Mexico as you take time traveling to your dive spot. You make friends and learn and share. They've been working on smaller groups of 15 or less, even in busy times and doing pretty good with it.
Downside to Dive House, if you really enjoy meeting and visiting with lots of people, there's not many on there...and the trip is shorter. I like to actually go two weeks and split one week with each operator to get the best of both worlds.
