Comments This was our 3rd year at Aura but our first with Dive Palancar. Previously, we dived with Sand Dollar, but they are no longer affiliated with Aura. We dived the morning dives with the boat picking us up at the Aura pier at 9. We were generally back at Aura by 12:30 or 12:45. Bottom times averaged about 45 minutes, but considering almost all divers were on air, not nitrox, this was not that bad. Surface intervals were usually at Aura or another resort, but once or twice we remained on the boat. Water was provided, but there was no fruit, etc. Safety briefings were satisfactory, divemasters asked divers which sites they preferred to dive, boat crew/divemasters were professional, courteous, and helpful. My wife and I are senior citizens, so we prefer a dive operation that will assist us with our gear. We were not disappointed with Dive Palancar. We took all of our gear to the small dive office located by the Aura pier the afternoon we arrived, and we basically never touched it again until we packed our bags to return home. The staff had our gear ready each morning, picked it up from the end of the pier after each day's diving, and rinsed/dried it and had it ready for us the next day. The day before we left, one of the staff members even helped carry our gear from the dive office to our room at Aura. Overall, we were very pleased with Dive Palancar and will dive with them again.
