Comments This was my second dive trip to Cozumel. Went with a group of 26 divers. The group was divided between two boats Aries and the Renegade.

Dove the popular southern sites on the map and saw just about everything on the fish id card. Any fish you asked for was located by the DM's. Saw five lionfish all week and one was speared by DM who then spent the rest of the dive looking for an eel or shark to feed it to. Trips out to the southern sites were close to an hour which left plenty of time to socialize / tan. Pop / water /cookies and fresh fruit offered between dives. Crew was excellent.

Dislikes: The Aries broke down due to a coolant leak and was repaired on the spot while the divers were all suited up waiting for the boat to go to the dive site. It gets hot sitting there poised. After that the next couple days the boat seemed to spew a lot of exhaust fumes on the trips out to the sites.
Both boats had the worst ladders I've ever used. The ladders were bent in and you had to use a knotted rope to pull yourself up.
The dive storage lockers are tiled, locked enclosures with no drainage or ventilation. After a week of your gear sitting in a 1/4" inch of water, opening the locker door in the morning is a shock to your nose.
Each morning you had to report at the dive shop near the dock at 8AM to check in and wait for your assigned boat. The boats would show up in no order and people would board. If someone was late the boat would untie, back out and wait. Then the next boat would come in and load up. Don't know why they couldn't schedule them and if you're late it's your loss.

Hotel Cozumel: Resort is a clean, comfortable three star resort with great staff. Ask for a foam mattress pad if you don't like a firm bed. Small beach area. Large pool with plenty of seats. Had the all inclusive package. Food was good but not great. The entertainment staff put on shows every night.
