I'm not complaining about anything as we won this trip at our dive shop in Denver, but I can't give everything five stars. The rooms were adequate with a refrigerator. We did have to change rooms because of a problem in our room. I believe there are also other upgraded rooms. The pool area was lovely. The buffet lunches and breakfasts had a lot of variety. I mostly ate the ceviche for lunch, which was good. The quality of the dinners varied. The steak night wasn't good, but some other nights were better.
Since we hadn't been diving in a while, and I had trouble clearing my ears on our last trip, we opted to get private guides, so, I can't review all of the group diving. I did have to let one of the guides know that I didn't want to be held, and by the end of the week, my ears were fine because I was able to take it slowly.
We were there the last week of May, which seemed like a good time. Early in the week, the boat wasn't crowded at all, but the last couple of days saw a big increase.
We were impressed with all of the dive personnel. Everyone was helpful and nice. We rented BC's and regulators. My husband's BC seemed better than mine. Everything worked, however.
We were surprised that the diving was as good as we had heard otherwise. And while it wasn't great, we saw a lot. We had to do a check-out dive, and even it was good. There was a Puffer, a banded moray, and a sharp-tailed eel, which I had never seen. On the other dives we saw a lot of lobsters, and at one point a large group of them clumped together maybe seven or eight. We saw a swimming sting ray, a swimming nurse shark, and swimming squid. There were some loggerhead turtles, one with a gash in his back. Most of the typical reef fish were there, even if not in great numbers. There were some lovely pairs of Queen Angel Fish. There was a baby cowfish, arrowhead spider crabs, and a seahorse, of course, shown to us by our guide. There were a number of morays, balloon fish, porcupine fish, a peacock flounder, and some other small critters. The hard coral is not great, but the sponges and soft corals were very pretty.
The ease of diving from the hotel where we were staying was a plus, and because of that, and because of the people at the dive shop, I would go there again. Our last trip to Raja Ampat was to be our swansong, but now after taking this trip, we think that we will continue diving. After all, I bought a bunch of new stuff from the dive shop before we left, and I need to use it.

Great report. Been to Coz. multiple times so this combination sounds good since Scuba club Cozumel has apparently not been bought out and reopened. It may end up being high cost condos AI says at the old site.
