Comments Diving: My family and I have dived Cozumel many times, using several companies. Dive With Cristina was, and remains, the best. We don't even bother looking at other companies.

This a small, family operation. They have never seen our C-cards. Instead, on the way to our first dive, they talked with us (and especially with our newly-certified, teenaged sons) about our experience, skills, and hypothetical responses to problems. They kept a close eye on us that first dive, but gave us increasing leeway on subsequent dives. I felt VERY comfortable with that approach.

Their boat is slow, but also comfortable. There are both exposed and covered sites. A hearty sandwich lunch is provided. They do not do night dives.

This particular trip was every bit as good as previous ones. Current varied from strong to none, depending on the site. Unlike previous trips, we only saw two sharks and no turtles, but also no lionfish. There were several endemic splendid toadfish, big angelfish and barracuda, and lots of crabs, lobsters, and featherdusters.

IMPORTANT NOTE: They do NOT accept credit cards. Be sure to have enough cash for your dives.

Accommodations: We have previously stayed at the Fiesta Americana, which has been renovated since our last trip. While we miss the former colors, it is otherwise very nice, with excellent staff. Rooms are nice. The buffets are tasty, if uninspiring. There is nice snorkeling to the north (we've never gone south as that would require a return against the current). Scuba gear is available from the on-site Dive House company. I've done it twice, but it's pretty shallow with a stiff current, so snorkeling is a better option for us.

Summary: Great diving, company, and hotel. I can't wait to return.
