Comments Cristina is an enthusiastic and mature divemaster with love for the ocean. She knows the reefs like the back of her hand and knew all the great places to find the fish that we go to Cozumel to photograph. In one of my shots I had three juvenile spotted drums together! She will be very firm with divers -- especially new divers -- to make sure they pay attention to important safety issues especially when the current is flying. Once she knows your skill level (has seen you in the water) she relaxes. Her boat provides a great lunch -- not the standard tasteless stuff to get you through the dive. She does not hurry surface intervals. They averaged between 1-1/2 and 2 hours. I loved diving with her.

Fiesta Americana is several miles out of town close to Caleta Marina where many of the dive boats sail from. It is a very nice comfortable hotel. Ground floor rooms are not good for divers as you cannot hang out your gear to dry on the patios. Ask for a room higher up. Some have hooks to hang BCs or other stuff from.

Divers can wait on the pier across the street for the dive company of their choice to pick them up. You need to check with your dive operation ahead of time to see if they will pick you up. The beach is public and there is a company that runs a dive operation right there from which you can rent tanks to shore dive. They also have a dive boat operation but I did not use them so I have no comment.

UW Photo Comments No separate wash bucket for cameras. However hose with fresh water available for rinse off. No table for working but large flat surface for seating and spreading photog gear out and setting up. 42 foot boat takes a limited load so there is plenty of room for working with cameras.
