Comments All experienced divers in the group commented that the reefs were a little better than a few years ago although there was considerable variation in coral health between dive sites. Their conservation efforts, or something, seem to be working. Turtles were common, so the Cozumel turtle project also seems to be working. We even saw a couple reef sharks.
Dressel Divers dive operation is very organized and diver masters were great. Everyone used Nitrox and it was no extra charge. Dressel offers the option of going over to the mainland for a day of Cenote dives or a whale shark snorkel off Isla Mujeres some time during the week.
The all inclusive resort is a collection of about 50 separate cabins scattered across a manicured tropical campus with several restaurants, 4 swimming pools, swim up bars, fitness center, dive shop and all the amenities of a 4star or 5 star hotel. Everyone raved about the extensive buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner that ofter included 100 choices.
This is Cozumel drift diving with 100 ft visibility in brisk currents. Requires very little energy output other than to stay close to dive buddy or group. No wetsuit needed, dive skin or lycra recommended.
