I arranged diving with Jeremy Anschel of Living Underwater. But, as he was full on some dive days, he recommended Liquid Blue Divers in less than a heart beat. Michaela Velasco runs the operation but has a crew that runs the dives. They’re fantastic! They are friendly, safe and experienced crew and guides. She runs the smaller fast boats that are great for getting you to and from the dive sites quickly. We had about an 8AM pickup and I usually had lunch with my wife by 12:30. Living Underwater uses the large steel tanks that provide extra negative buoyancy so you can dive with less weight. The currents were particularly strong the week I was there (last week of Jan). The extra weight from the larger tanks helped to stabilize the drift. For those who know about Cozumel, the sea life is fantastic. We only saw one black tip shark (about 8-9 feet). My fellow divers let me know that they first saw the shark swimming up to me with my back turned. I probably didn’t need that surprise! I’ve written a separate review of Living Underwater for readers who would like a view of another operator. The diving with Jeremy and Michaela was seamless. The ease and quality of diving with both was fantastic. For those looking for operators in Cozumel, diving with either Liquid Blue or Living Underwater will be a winner. |
