Comments After 18 months without diving due to Covid restrictions, the Director of Seacology put together this trip so that some of us could safely get back in the water. We had all been vaccinated and all the crew had been too, and we chartered the boat only for our grouop, which meant that we could be more relaxed about masking and social distancing than what the dive operation would ordinarily have required. Nonetheless, they still required us to each bring our own towels to avoid possibly spreading the virus.

Jeremy at Living Underwater and his crew did an excellent job. They were to the minute on picking us up right at the dock outside our condos and designed each day's diving around what we wanted. With three crew members and just 5 of us we were well taken care of. We left whatever gear we wanted on the boat and each morning when they picked us up our wetsuits were clean and dry and our gear was all set up. They also had different size tanks available based on individual's preferences and air usage.

Diving was pretty much what we remembered for Cozumel, although we were able to see more sharks this time than I remember from the past. Corals and fish life that we saw seemed quite healthy, although some sites were closed due to disease problems.

To be as safe from Covid as possible, we each rented our own condos and had breakfast and lunch there, then ate outside at a local restaurant for dinner. The condos were very nice and included all necessary amenities as well as daily housekeeping.

When we were there, Cozumel had strict masking requirements in place that seemed to be widely observed, so we actually felt safer there than back in the states. Also, Cozumel seems to have some new restaurants that are definitely a step or two above the places like Senor Frog's which, thankfully, now appears to be closed.
