Comments Been to Cozumel many times over the past several decades; the reefs seem to have stabilized, though fewer fish (both large and small) than years ago. Still a nice dive destination, one of the best reasonably accessible. (When doing a short trip, I like to dive the afternoon of arrival - makes the 3 am wakeup more palatable!)
Jeremy Anschel and Living Underwater remain a great dive operation for those who prefer the smaller - boat experience. He will pick you up at your Hotel's dock, provide Nitrox, large volume Steel tanks (both 100 and 120 cf available), towels, jackets if needed, and good leadership. Plus an interesting and friendly guy.
Note - September 2015 - Water temps between 82 and 84, I was perfectly comfortable diving bare. Good vis, rain one day, then nice weather.
Turtles on every dive. Occasional sharks (nurse predominated, though a few more interesting types as well). Grouper, many huge lobster and crab.
