Comments Typical Cozumel trip with Living Underwater, except for more bad weather than normal. I spent a month in Cozumel and dove about 20 days. I had planned more but "Norte" storms from the US closed the port and cut into dive time. The reefs were in good shape, nice corals and lots of tropical reef fish. The corals on Cozumel seem to be recovering more and more each year since the hurricane back around 2007. We saw lots of Eagle Rays, sometimes seeing several each dive. There were more sharks than usual, not every dive, but we did see them regularly on the deeper reef dives. There were lots of sea turtles, enough I got tired of watching them!

We stay at a downtown hotel, this time the Suites Colonial, and eat at a variety of restaurants. The hotel was very comfortable (actual little suite rooms, with Bdr, bath, Lv Rm, dining table and small kitchen), although it has no place to care for dive gear, luckily our dive operator Living Underwater, takes care of our gear.

We ate at everything from upscale restaurants to local taco shops, all were great. Cozumel is truly a nice place to stay, with friendly people and lots of great places to eat.
