Comments First the resort. We stayed at the Secrets Aura, which is about a 30 minute van ride south of the airport. The resort is all inclusive and had a good pier for the dive boats. The staff was excellent but the resort is getting a little worn and could us some updating. Food was good and the resort had a nice beach.
We planned to dive with Living Underwater for six days but they were unavailable the first day so we dove with the resort dive shop, Dive House. Dive House runs typical resort dives with many divers per boat, we had 12, and timed dives, ours averaged about 50-55 minutes. There were two dive guides in the water so those running low on air could go up with one dive guide while the remainder could stay down longer.
After the first day, we dove with Living Underwater for the remaining 5 days of our trip. Living Underwater is operated by Jeremy Anchel and he picked us up at 8AM at our resort pier. His boat, the Jewfish, is a smaller fast boat that can take up to 8 divers, although there were only 2 to 4 divers each day during our stay. Leaving early on a fast boat got us to some of the southern dive sites before the crowds arrived. Jeremy uses 120 cuft steel tanks that allowed us bottom times averaging 75 to 90 minutes using 32% nitrox. Jeremy and his boat crew, Ricardo and Luis, run a clean, safe and very enjoyable operation. After dives we were served fruit, muffins and water on the boat. Surface intervals between dives were at Paradise Beach where additional food and drinks can be purchased. Living Underwater was the best dive operation I have been with in 7 trips to Cozumel and is now my dive operation of choice when I go back.

Enforced diving restrictions We followed Jeremy on the dive but were allowed the freedom to dive slightly shallower or deeper to check things out. We used 32% nitrox so were depth limited by the MOD. Dives were terminated when the first diver reached 700 PSI, but that was always over 75 minutes and often at 90 minutes.
Liveaboard? no Nitrox Available? yes
