Comments	This was my second trip in two years to Playa Del Carmen and my second time diving with Phantom Divers. Each time, Sophia handled the booking and the logistics without any issues. Easy. I flew from LAX to CUN and the dive shop had a shuttle pick me up right outside baggage claim. The driver had a sign with my name and I had the van to myself. It was a 45 minute ride from Cancun to Playa. Phantom Divers can set you up at a local hotel, or you can do it yourself. I chose to book a hotel called El Taj, right on the water where we board the dive boats and one block from the shop. It was beautiful and I had VIP service. I had the shop book my a place back in 2020 and it was just okay. I recommend El Taj, Playa Palms or another place right near the shop. My first day was diving with bull sharks and it was the best shark dive I have ever done. The divermasters wore chain mail and we all had to wear dark colors and be completely covered, so I had to switch out my orange rashie and yellow fins. Whatever. The sharks get really close and one bumped my GoPro as I was filming. You have to keep your hands and elbows in tight and lay prone on the bottom. That said, it was amazing. The next several days, we dove cenotes: Tah Maha, El Pit, Angelita, Carwash and Dos Ojos. The final day was two average reef dives, which don't compare to the ones done out at Cozumel. MoMo and Miguel are the dedicated cenote dive guides. That is all they do and they do it well. Other divermasters handle the shark and reef dives. The shop is a nice facility and well-managed. The area around the shop on 14th Street/Calle is a nice touristy area with a lot of bars and cool places to eat. I was never bored! Phantom is a very professional and safe operation with little staff turnover. They have been around for over 30 years.
