Comments Let me start with the dive operation, RZ Exporers operates out of Chankanaab park and on Palancar beach. Our first dive was at Chankanaab the other 4 dives were Palancar beach. They operate only one small boat 6 or 7 divers max plus divemaster. In 4 dives from the Palancar beach operation only one had 5 diver plus 2 divemasters, 4 from another group and myself. On dive had my self and my buddy paired with another pair of divers and 2 divemasters, one dive had my dive buddy and myself with 1 divemaster and finally one dive it was me and a divemaster. The price was competive even including the cost of taxi fair or a rental car to and from Palancar beach. If you take a taxi, you will need to arrange for your return trip with the drive at the time drop off because taxis do not normally stand by at this location because of very low demand. The location is very close to all the best dive sight, 5-10 minutes from Palancar, Santa Rosa, and several other great sights. Charlie was my divemaster for 2 dive and was excellent even though he spoke very little english. I never had to show my C-card or dive log and did one dive to 90' and the rest in the 60-70' range. The service was good as the divemasters changed over the bottles between dives. The dive shop is located on Palancar beach and has a resturaunt and very nice beach facilities. This is the same location Aladora Divers uses as their shore break. Overall, the operation could use some refining and when I dive in Cozumel again, I will look at other dive operators. The owner, Ramon Zapata, was the only person who was fluent in english and often distracted by having to keep track of 2 dive operations as well as working as a divemaster and instructor. This lead to less than great service. As to the location, if you want short boat rides and great great location and operation during your surface stop this is a great spot.
