Comments We have been to Scuba Club Cozumel at least 10 times. We usually go in a group, this year there were 15 of us. The staff is unbeatable in terms of friendliness, hospitality, smiles, desire to please, etc. The resort is immaculately clean. There are making upgrades to the rooms. There is now WiFi throughout the resort. They offer Buy One Get One Half Price deals during the low season so it is a bargain. There is a pool and lounge chairs and hammocks facing the Caribbean with the gentle breeze blowing at all times. It is a 15 minute walk from the center of town. They make arrangements for you if you want to rent a Moped or car or bike. The sunsets are breathtaking from shore. The diving on the house reef is a microcosm of what you see on the reefs sans the sharks and big rays. There are very few Lion Fish as the dive masters kill them. The Grouper and Snappers have learned to eat the Lion Fish that are speared, it is really cool to watch them feed.
The food is good and plentiful. For breakfast they serve at least 8 options with American, Mexican and Mayan fare. For lunch there is a salad bar with American type salads then different specials every day. If you have any dietary challenges, they will prepare food to your specific regimen. For dinner there are two options offered every night along with a vegetarian option. Their desserts are homemade and there is always ice cream, especially delicious is the coconut and mango ice cream.

The challenges I have arise out of my own personal preferences and biases. E.g. they use Styrofoam cups for coffee at breakfast and to serve the ice cream. Not sure why but there is no recycling on Cozumel. I prefer eating the cuisine of the country I visit. Most all of the resorts we stay at cater American fare, SCC included.
Cozumel is drift diving so I would hesitate to dive there if you are a beginner diver with buoyancy issues. There are no TVs or phones in the rooms which I don't mind at all but some insomniac in our group mentioned is an issue. The resort is concrete, if you fall you are going to get hurt, sometimes the stairs get slippery if they are wet.

SCC feels like home to me. The Management retains the same staff every year, a sign of working in good conditions.

UW Photo Comments There are separate rinse tanks for photographers on land and on the boat. The dive shop is helpful and will try to accomodate and repair any issue with the cameras. The dive masters will fashion the dive according to your interests, e.g. if you are shooting macro, he will pick a place with less current and go slowly during the dive. The dive masters are excellent at pointing out what you want/need to photograph.
