Comments Diving:
The diving exceeded my expectations from the first dive to the last, with amazing visibility, lots of swim-throughs and all sorts of marine life - big and small.

We had a group of 11 divers, so we had our own boat with 4 boat dives per day (vs the standard 2 dives per day)...without 4 boat dives we would have been disappointed - the house reef is good for night dives, but pretty barren in the daytime.

The boats & divemasters were vey well organized and did a great job of pointing out all the 'must-see' items on each of the dives. Very thorough briefings were provided with suggested profiles, things to watch for, reef structure, etc. The boat diving crew made us very comfortable, helping us out of the water, changing tanks, providing refreshments, etc

Current at the dive sites was variable - some dives had very strong current, which could be difficult for novice divers. Other sites had very mild currents that were great for macro photography. Due to depth and repetetive dives, its is important to monitor NDL to avoid exceeding limits.

The Resort:
Rooms were basic but very clean, with good air conditioning but no TV or phone (a nice break!). Resort included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner which were excellent. They provided lots of variety, so you weren't eating the same things day after day (unless you wanted to). Very attentive staff during breakfast & lunch, but dinner service was typically slow. Drinks were not included, but prices charged were very reasonable. Be sure to bring cash for tips, as they are not included in the resort fees.

General:
Due to 'Swine Flu', cruise ships are not stopping in Mexico until July, so the island is pretty dead right now. Many shops & restaurants were closed until the cruise ships come back.

Recomendations:
Travel as a group to request 4 boat dives each day
Buy a phonecard online prior to your trip and use local payphones (much cheaper than using the hotel phones)
Bring US Dollars - no need to convert to Mexican Pesos

UW Photo Comments Separate rinse tanks on the dive boats and outside dive shop were convenient. House reef had great photo opportunities at night (Octos, Stingrays, Puffers, Squid, etc). Drift dives offered many different options for photography during the day (Sharks, seahorses, grouper, eels, reef fish, etc).
