Comments While Cozumel may not be the diving it was pre-hurricane, it is still very good diving.

The el Presidente is a value issue. It is not at the level of a Four Seasons hotel like some claim, but it is still nice and a good value at 100-150 a night.

The trick to Scuba Du is to hire your own dive master at $50/day. We spent our first couple dives with the group until we found a couple divers who had similar profile and split the cost of a dive master. With your own dive master the 45 minute limitation vanishes. Our dives were 55+ after hiring our own dive master.

It should be noted that Scuba du is valet diving and they pamper divers both on and off the boat. Notable dive masters that stood out are Hector and Allesandro.

New divers should wary of the current. If you learned to dive in the bathtub like environment like Hawaii, it can take a little experience to get used to. It took me about 5-8 dives before I felt completely comfortable.
