Comments Yes, once again I returned. I am constantly surprised by the changes with each visit. There was basically NO current with the exception of one day, the day I chose to return to Cedral Wall. There was a 5 knot current on the wall itself. We moved to the pass and it was like being in a tornado with the sand whipping through. This was 2 days before the full moon. We saw few turtles. There were few nurse sharks, but those we saw were huge. There were few grouper, but 2 very large schools of snapper. The most interesting spectacle was the mating ritual of 2-1" dragonets. Yes, it was a photographers delight. The night dive was great. There were several juvenile file fish. There were no octopus, which was disappointing. There were dolphins playing on a return trip. Our granddaughter and guide dove in to snorkel with them. This isn't a usual occurrence. Scuba Du is efficient and safe. Jorge runs a smooth ship. Jose Luis does a good job as a dive guide. Victor still keep are suits and gear immaculate. Oh that every dive destination had a Victor! On a positive note, the cruise ships are going away. Perhaps I'll see the old Cozumel again. It will devastate the economy as it became dependent on them. There were fewer divers than I've ever seen over the 4th. I think the airfare has much to do with it. The all- inclusive resorts get a better rate on airfare, which I believe we subsidize. Los Buccanos is now open from Wednesday through Saturday evening. They have air conditioned indoor seating now. It is pricey by Cozumel standards, but exquisitely prepared food awaits. It is also immaculately clean. There is much talk about Al Pie del Carbon. Perhaps it's okay for a hamburger but don't order the seafood. We ordered shrimp and lobster and I swear they were cooked on a grill where a hamburger was just lifted. They were also incinerated. La Choza is still great for fajitas and deep fried whole snapper. Guidos has lost its touch along with the owner that has retreated to New York.

Enforced diving restrictions I think it depends on ability. The groups are small and well appointed. They would not let one be careless. We rent a private boat which gives us an advantage as to selected dive sites. We really have no desire to do deep diving so it isn't an issue.
Liveaboard? no Nitrox Available? yes

UW Photo Comments There is no accommodation on the samll boat for cameras. Willie, our captain, was careful in handling the cameras. There is a soak tank at El Cantil for the cameras.
