Comments We have dove Cozumel 6 times in the past 4 years and have found our "go to" dive operators down there this year. JP and Carlos along with their Boat Captain, Marcelo run a first class operation. It is a very comfortable and fast boat, with dry decking to avoid slipping, plenty of actual dry storage above and in front along with a very well laid out boat for up to 12 divers. You can back roll off the sides or do a giant stride off the back between the outboards as the transom opens up. It is equipped with a fantastic satellite radio sound system or bring your best tunes to plug in. Marcelo, the Captain keeps a very tidy boat that is well cared for and he is so friendly and helpful to you while onboard.

Have you ever got a fresh dry towel offered to you after you come up? Scuba Life does each and every day. On the cold winds of the Norte they have boat coats for you to use.

JP and Carlos are very experienced yet have a real passion for showing you an amazing dive each and every time you go down. They are very good at finding critters and helping you if you need anything. The surface interval is fun with great fruit, snacks and drinks along with music and laughter to make your day special.

JP and Carlos understand the vast differences in peoples ability levels and air consumption. They make sure you have a partner and if you are hitting 700psi and another diver is also, they pair you up, launch a safety sausage and make sure you get picked up by Marcelo, the captain while everyone else continues their dive profiles. It is safe and allows divers with better air consumption to stay down and continue diving.

We have dove with several operators down there and have seen many more at the surface-interval shared docks, and no one holds a candle to these guys; that I have seen. Most divers find someone they like and stick with them, which we did too, until we found ScubaLife Cozumel. We will always dive with them on all our trips to Cozumel as we have used Scuba Life Cozumel the last two trips down there this year and will book with them going forward every trip.

UW Photo Comments Both JP and Carlos are photographers and understand your needs and provide a good size camera bucket filled with FRESH water. They will gladly hand you your rig once you enter and show you great things to see down there.

I made one small mistake. The last paragraph I stated we will use Dive Life Cozumel and I meant to say Scuba Life Cozumel for our "go to" operator every trip to Cozumel we make down there. Eric Ohde

Where would you recommend staying?

Kim, Interesting question as we have stayed several places. We loved the Residencia Reef condos, 14 km S of town right on the water & Scuba Life will p/u on Secret's Resort dock next door, you will need a rental car or taxi to town. Have stayed at the Blue Angel Resort too, which is closer to town (2Km S) on the water too, but dive operation is not so good. And they will not allow Scuba Life to pick you up at the Blue Angel, so you need to catch a cab South to the Marina. Several hotels in town too are quite reasonable but all cab rides to the Marina also.
