Comments The good: casa mexicana had fabulous breakfast(free) and heated small pool, excellent WiFi, very good house-keeping, etc.
the diving was sorta ok for punta Tunish and las Palmas dive sites; only some photo ops; no shark except baby shark mostly hidden under a ledge; some tropical fishes ( lots of blue tang). Scubajuan would go out even if there was only 1 diver. The Scuba juan dive shop is next to Hotel Barracuda; only 6 min. walk from Casa Mexicana. The food could be cheap for lunch at Cherudi mkt.; a torta de pollo cost only 26 peso ( 19 peso/ 1 USD); whereas, the eatery back of Hotel Barracuda cost 350 peso for a burrito and a beer.
the bad was very minor: rainy season, only a few sprinkles the first week and only 2 intense 12 min. down-pour the second week. The murder in the street was very rare.
Covid masks were worn only at airport and hotel.
