Comments Recently spent a couple of weeks in the Mexican Yucatan. First week was spent in Playa del Carmen doing some cenote diving. From there we rode the water ferry over to Cozumel to get our ocean-diving fix. Decided to try out an 'all-inclusive' resort for the first time on the island. My buddies & I have dove Cozumel many times since our first trip in 1991 & up to now had always stayed at Scuba Club (Galapagos Inn in the old days). Of course serious divers know that all the best dive sites are on the south end of the island, so it makes sense for divers to stay closer to the dive sites, especially when all the amenities are included.

This time we stayed at Wyndham Sabor Resort which is five miles south from the ferry landing & more importantly, is adults-only. Yes! No screaming kids peeing in the pool (adults only) or on our water slides ........ complete w/ friendly bartenders at poolside..... Paradise!

Sand Dollar Diving is the on-site operator, but due to major remodeling at the Wyndham, our Continental Vacations package had us set up w/ Cozumel Experience, which runs boats out of the main harbor. They picked us up each morning & dropped us off at the boat's stern where our divemaster, Salvador Aguilar (excellent English) took over. Salvador & his boat crew were very helpful & accomodating to the few divers on-board & to any photographers on the boat.

Cozumel Experience runs three boats, two of which would bring a tear of nostalgia to the eye of any diver who remembers the old slow boats that used to take all day from one end to the other. No matter - they're quite comfortable & the harbor's not that far from the diving. The third boat is larger & faster, but was not used while we were there due to few divers.

The diving was of course .......... Cozumel ..... can't beat it for the price!

Continental Vacations had representatives at the hotel & airport check-in who were very helpful.
