Comments My fourth trip with Fathom Five on Kauai and second to Niihau, also with Fathom Five. There's a reason why Fathom Five is rated #1 on Kauai in the Guide book "Kauai Revealed". They simply provide the very highest level of service with outstanding courtesy, respect for the environment, and most of all---respect for you as a person and a scuba diver. Best maintained and updated rental gear I've seen to date from any dive operation as an instructor. Computers rented and they even show you how to operate them---properly. Solid, to-the-point dive briefs, great food for the trip to Niihau, and first class Captains and Divemasters. When was the last time you rented a wetsuit and had the shop offer to carry an extra one on a trip so you could put on a dry one instead of wet one? Hats off to Holly for being our DM and doing a superb job leading the dives of Lehua Rock and Niihau. She's a real pro at spoting aquatic life and leading the dive. If you visit Kauai between May and September, the Niihua dive is a MUST-DO. 200 ft viz and wonderous aquatic life. We saw white-tip and grey reef sharks, spotted eagle rays, turtles, all the imagineable reef fish, octopus, black coral, and a cirque de soliel show by the monk seals. They played with us and each other...sometimes approaching with a foot ot two. Just a delightful experience all the way around.
Also did south Kauai with them and had a blast with great viz so we went back and did additional shore dives at Tunnels on the North Shore renting our tanks and weights from them---again, superb service with good fills and no issues with tank seals:) Like to thank Captains Pat and Charlie as well as store staff, Zoe, Erin, and Maryana for making our trip outstanding. Great fun, safe diving, and great value--Dive Fathom Five! The only shop to use on Kauai for boat or shore diving.
