Comments Water was colder than anticipated, which meant that I rented a 5 mm wetsuit from Jack's, and used my lavacore. Jack's is well stocked with rental gear, so there was no difficulty in adding the rental. Visibility was spectacular. Much of the diving involved underwater lava formations, which I should have figured out before I went. This meant that I wished I had brought my dive light on all the dives, not just the night time dives. The dive guides were helpful in pointing out unique and rare fish. The boats were crowded, which meant that everyone needed to cooperate with instructions. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

Enforced diving restrictions Dives were limited to 80 minutes, which is generous. Depth limits and maximum dive time were specified. Dive guides were knowledgeable and accommodating to specific requests. Also, the dive guides rinsed everything and stored everything, which was nice but unnecessary.
