After reading some of the postings about Lahaina Divers (underfilled tanks, crowded) we were initially a bit concerned about booking with them. Prior to our trip I called them about concerns and was reassured. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and since we were staying in Kaanapali it was nice to have a ten minute drive, rather than the hour or so th Kihei. My main purpose was photographing frog fish and nudibranks. We had eight people on one set of dives and fourteen on another. The crew was great in handling my DSLR rig in a cooler on wheels. Plenty of room. Tanks all filled over 3,000 psi. Not only did we see five different frog fish in one spot, many nudi's, mating octos, white tipped reef sharks, many tropicals, the largest trumpet fish I have ever seen, swimming flounder, multiple species of eel. Fun diving, good operators, great DM's, and very accomodating for photographers. Would definitely dive with them again. |

UW Photo Comments |
My main purpose in diving was to take frog fish and nudibrank photos. I dive with a Nikon DSLR in a Subal housing with twin Ikelite strobes (ie large rig). I purchased a fairly large cooler on wheels to transport mu camera and housing, and there was no problem bringing this on board. Plenty of room and work space. DM's were very good about locating subjects I wanted to shoot. |
