Comments This is my 8th or 9th trip to Maui, diving with LD every time. Regularly scheduled trips to various Maui County sites. 5* package gets you a good discount, plus tanks/weights for shore diving if you want (my afternoon schedule is shower, rum/coke, book, nap on a beach chair). Crew both in shop and onboard is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. This is the best outfit if you want to do advanced diving (Molokini backwall, Molokai hammerhead trip, Lanai). Check-in at Lahaina shop at 7 am most days for am dive (9 am on Thursday Lanai drift dives). Since I stay at Kaanapali, I don't want to get up at 4:30 am to get to Kehei for a 6 am meetup. DMs know what to look for at every dive site, and will let you do your own profile (on a computer) within reason (don't be an a--hole and stray from the group, burn through your air, etc.). OK if you're a relatively inexperienced diver--the crew is patient, and will separate divers into groups by experience. I'm taking the rebreather discovery dive course at the end of the month. It's a new offering from LD (I think I'll be the first customer) and will report on my experience. Crew changes over tanks after first dive, and will take your gear bag back to the shop, for you to rinse and store gear between dive days. Oh, did I mention coffee and muffin slices at check in and sandwiches, chips, fruit at surface interval and cookies after 2nd dive? You won't go hungry, but save room for an ice cream after your dives at the shop in at the corner of Front St. and the Pioneer Inn. Saw two gigantic pelagic manta rays on Molokini backwall dive (a very rare occurrence).
