Comments AKR is an outstanding resort,They pick you up on a bus from the airport, You start to make freinds before you hit the water. After a breif boincy check you start your week with the same crew.We had Marvin as our dive master and Joel as our captain. 2 friendly and exsperinced people. They stick close the first dive and then let those who want to stray do so. Lots of big grouper, coral crab, lobster, yellow tails, and green morals to start the list.
On shore they have the dolphin pen. Unlike most dolphin encounters, you can sit at the pens all day and the dolpin bring you peices of grass so you will play with them. They also have the encounter were the introduce you to one of the dolphin (kenny was ours)and let you pet him them teach tou about them. Afterwords you spend 30 min snorkeling with the pod. There was a calf born on our 2nd day. It was amazing watching the mother care for her. They also have the dolphin dive. They give the same introduction, then take 3 of them, in our case Hector, kenny and 1 other out in theopen ocean at ubout 70ft. There you see them play and get to react with them in the wild.
They also have a shek encounter. They take you to a site called "Cara a Cara" meaning face to face, were you go to the 70ft bottom and the Caribian reef sharks swim around you.
Every night we would grab a bottle of wine and watch the Eagle rays swim around the light in the lagoon.
Clean room with shared lani. Meal included, all served, no buffet. Great touch. Very freindly people both working and visiting, by the end of yhe week you will have a new set of freinds. We will go back.
