What can one say about CCV that hasn't been said already? This was our second trip in as many years. Still a wonderful experience, no evidence of any sort of decline in services or facilities, and something that we plan to make an annual activity. Worked with Patty at Dockside Dive Center to complete our AOW certification, which was an enjoyable experience. She's a truly wonderful instructor and someone we'd proactively seek out for additional training if and when we want it. She was committed to making sure we learned what we wanted, even if it meant some extra sessions for her. We were lucky enough to get put on a boat with a larger group of experienced and very competent divers, which made for a week of blissfully low-drama diving. Jorge and Eddie were our captain and dive guide, respectively. Eddie was great at point out little things and Jorge was proactively helpful throughout the week. One change for us was we stayed in a beach house as opposed to at CCV proper (the resort was fully booked). We quite liked this as it gave us some more room to stretch out and relax when off-gassing. It was a short 3-4 minute bike ride between the beach house and the main CCV complex. The admonitions about bringing bug spray should be heeded. Also plan to bring some sort of after-bite remedy as a second line of defense. Happy Diving! |
